The opening of The Rum Runner’s Ball with Betty, the bootlegger, Snuffer Pearl, the rum runner and Glady, the gossip
As Sure As The Moon is from The Rum Runner’s Ball, a comedy with music set during Prohibition in 1930 in Mahone Bay. The show was first performed in the summer of 2006. It is sung by Temperance Officer Craig Mader who is faced with a dilemma as he pursues the love of his life…the bootlegger’s daughter.
I’ve revived it for Ruby Zwicker’s Recipe For Hodge Podge, which begins performances in the community June 8th and opens for a run in the Chester Playhouse, July 5 thru 7, 2012.
